President's Message

On June 1, 2008, Scott Fabry RN was named President and CEO of Lake Sunapee Region VNA & HOSPICE. He succeeds Andrea Steel, who retired on May 31, 2008 after 35 years of service to the agency. "Scott has the professional background required for the position as well as a thorough grasp of the agency's unique needs. He will be a strong and effective leader who supports the long-standing values of the VNA and understands the challenges of a complex health care system," says Ward O'Neill, VNA Board Chair.

Fabry is well known to the VNA, having been one of the agency's RN Case Managers from 2001 - 2004. Immediately before being named President, Fabry served as the agency's Clinical Director. In this role, he was responsible for all acute care services and supervised more than 25 licensed nurses and therapy professionals. Fabry received his nursing degree from Castleton State College. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in Health Practice Management from Franklin Pierce College. Fabry brings extensive hospital-based clinical experience, including intensive nursing care, to colleagues and other professional associates with whom the agency collaborates. In addition to his clinical knowledge, Fabry brings a strong business background from his years of work in the banking industry.

"In 1993, I chose to leave the banking business to pursue a career in nursing. I don't think I fully realized that it then, but my decision was based on a desire to develop meaningful relationships and have a positive impact on the lives of others. Subsequently, I learned that the real world of healthcare is very different from that idealistic vision I first pursued. The financial constraints and staffing shortages ubiquitous to our healthcare system have been real roadblocks in the pursuit of my dream. However, I can honestly say that home health care in general, and Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice in particular, have provided me the opportunity to realize my dreams to a degree that I have found nowhere else. I am proud and honored to have been selected to lead this wonderful organization," says Fabry.
